Strong and committed, Cancer mothers are the Head Mamas of the zodiac. Maternal instincts are second nature and having children is usually a hardline for Cancer women. These mothers are truly traditional. Keeping hearth and home stable means the world to them. Deeply nurturing they find comfort in providing stability and consistency for their kids. Caring for others is a large part of what makes them feel fulfilled. Cancer mamas find deep pride and joy in their children’s successes as they see themselves as partners on their children’s journey of growth. They have a romantic and idealistic vision of motherhood, and they can sometimes struggle with the harsher realities of day to day parenting (baking together, teaching piano, doing arts and crafts, playing in piles of leaves, YES! But tooth brushing, fighting over bedtime or eating broccoli? Not so much).
These mamas find a calling in all things parenting, even finding a boost in their social life when they welcome their little ones (Cancers can be somewhat shy socially) as Mommy and Me classes often lead them to their first group of mom friends. But no matter how close you become with your mom friends, your children will likely be your closest friends; often Cancer moms and their children speak of having a best friend relationship well into adulthood. The tougher side of a Cancer mama can be misconstrued outwardly as being hard on your kids or a strict mom, but it all comes from the heart; the soft inside the shell where you want nothing but good things and success for your kids and you’ll do whatever you can to ensure that for them. Cancer moms do have to try to remember that they need time for themselves; it’s ok to take time for yourself now and then.
